Staged Awards
There are six “staged awards” – badges that Beavers, Cubs and Scouts can earn gradually over the years as their skills progress.
Now we don’t want to put your children under more pressure to achieve, but
if it
fits in with their current interests and you feel that it would be a
source of
encouragement for them, then we can work together to help them earn
these
awards. This really applies to those who are already taking lessons and
regularly developing their skills in one of these areas:
Each award has five levels so the young people can start by
earning the
level 1 award and work up through the levels during their time in
Beavers,
Cubs, and Scouts. The Nights Away and Hikes Away awards are presented by the leaders
as the
young people attend more and more camps but for the other awards,
we can
send home validation forms that can signed off by teachers and tutors
as the
requirements of the awards are achieved. It is not essential to complete level 1 before tackling level 2 and so on:
each
young person should target their current level.
