Our HQ
The Scout Hut was built in the 1960's to replace the former Scout Hut in Chaplin Street (now Roselands Gardens). The buildings and land are leased partly from the council and partly from the Uplands Estate Householders Association. We are responsible for keeping the HQ in good condition and also the fences and trees in the copse. We hold a Spring Cleaning Day and a Grounds Maintenance Day from time to time.
HQ Hire
You can hire out the rooms in the HQ for these very favourable rates (effective from Jan 2009):
- £12.50 evening, morning, or afternoon hire of Galbraith Room (£25 all day)
- £25 evening, morning, or afternoon hire of Main Hall (£50 all day)
- £50 evening, morning, or afternoon hire of entire HQ (£100 all day)
Discounts for regular bookings and for members. Capacity: Ideal for groups of 10, 20, 30 or 40 people. Restrictions: No band practices. Parties: children's parties only. Limited insurance. Use of kitchen permitted. No alcohol. Disabled access and toilet provided. Sufficient parking is normally available in Brookvale Road. Please park considerately.
Marquee Hire
Our marquee is also available for hire for £30. The ground area is 12x18 feet. Height is 6.5 feet at the walls and another 5 feet in the centre. Can be transported in the back of an estate car.
